House Air Waybill (HAWB)
The House Air Waybill (HAWB) is an important document in air cargo logistics that a freight forwarder issues to the shipper. It contains detailed shipping information, such as the consignor and consignee, flight route, cargo description, weight, and handling instructions. Whereas a Master Air Waybill (MAWB) is issued by the airline, an HAWB is issued at the house level for individual consignments that are combined into a single master shipment. This document serves as a receipt for goods, a contract of carriage, and an important reference for tracing the cargo.
CargoWise uses templates and automated workflows to simplify the design and maintenance of HAWBs. The technology enables correct documentation, compliance with international air freight standards, and real-time data synchronization among partners. HAWBs serve an important role in expediting customs clearance, ensuring transparency throughout the air freight process, and enabling electronic documentation for speedier processing and fewer delays at transit locations.
