Challenges faced

  • There was a lot of pressure on our team to finish the job by the deadline.
  • Obtaining internal agreement and bridging the gap between the system and its operational functions were hurdles in transitioning from a fully custom-developed system to a packaged solution.

Solutions

  • We implemented CargoWise One, which includes accounting features including inventory management, accounts receivable and payable administration, and bank data management.
  • Furthermore, we used CargoWise One for forwarding, especially for maritime import/export activities.

CargoWise data development and integration:

  • Created a customer web portal with CargoWise-connected booking and service schedule search features.
  • Created an internal management website that made it easier to integrate bank deposit and cancellation data with CargoWise.
  • Signals integration was used to integrate voyage schedule data, including information on vessel movement.
  • Developed seventeen additional data integrations, both large and small in scale.

Project goals and goals after installation

  • Updating the main system and making sure it was implemented on time were among our goals in order to improve customer service standards.
  • Our goal was to increase operational efficiency by at least 30% by integrating worldwide data with vendors, large shipping companies, and international agents.
  • Additionally, by obtaining unified workflows and functionalities through the new system, we aimed to increase employee efficiency.

Project organization, structure, and personnel

Five full-time employees made up our project team: an accountant, an export and import operator, a project manager, and a project leader. Two members of the IT crew assisted them.

Results

We effectively developed collaborative teamwork and trust between the internal project team and our partner. One of the main reasons for our success was that,

  1. We had well-defined goals.
  2. Frequent and open communication to keep team members interested.
  3. Our partner’s cooperation and assistance.
  4. Detailed hypothesis testing.

Impacts and benefits of implementation

  • Our operation was made simpler by the implementation of CargoWise, which also cleared the path for more advancements.
  • We adopted new perspectives and gained from cloud service utilization, automatic data and system integration, quick release, and post-implementation modifications.

Why SOTCHO Logistics chose Elicit Technology?

They chose Elicit Technology because of its proven track record in the United States and grasp of American culture. Furthermore, we respected their understanding of forwarding operations, team composition, and management structure. We are excited to strengthen our cooperation with Elicit through more advancements, digitization, and collaborative workshops.
