Challenges Faced

POXO Transit operates among a client base of over 3,000 companies in 10 different industries and works with over 11,000 suppliers. Handling about 800 orders a day was very time-consuming on manual data processing and routine tasks. To increase efficiency and minimize human errors, POXO Transit wanted to use Robotic Process Automation to automate data processing. Elicit Technology was chosen as the service provider for POXO Transit after POXO Transit went through a few service providers.

Solution 

The development team at Elicit Technology took a dedicated approach to the project from the requirements stage through documentation, RPA development, user acceptance testing, and employee training.

The project began with the evaluation of POXO Transit processes to identify areas for robotic process automation, which were prioritized based on their ease of automation to provide a quick return and assist in the transportation process.

They applied a CargoWise-based RPA application and created bots that would run tasks at different times of the day. Key automated processes included:

  • Enriching the order management system with CMR (international consignment) notes.
  • Consolidating data such as carrier information, order numbers, and other information from POXO Transit Systems to client systems.
  • Regular updates to client and supplier lists and short reviews of potential clients for credit lines.

Results

Elicit Technology implemented three major automated business processes for POXO Transit. Developed RPA system automated regular work activities such as copying logistics data from one system to another and performing basic checks to validate and update clients and suppliers lists. Therefore, POXO Transit employees were relieved of little responsibilities and were able to concentrate on issues that were relevant to the business itself.
